Nano SIM Card, Replaces Role of Micro SIM Card | A Munich-based company, Giesecke & Devrient named Germany has just announced their latest product is Nano SIM, the SIM Card is the smallest in the world that has a size of two-thirds the size of normal micro-SIM.
This
new SIM card technology also has a thinner thickness (down 15%) and better performance, with a size of about 12mmx9mm, smaller SIM Nano about 30% of the Micro SIM and 60% smaller than regular SIM card. Later the new phones will be able to support SIM Nano and old
cell phones can also be carried by using a SIM card adapter.
Apple is reportedly contributing to the
development of Nano-SIM. According to sources, in May 2011, Apple has filed a plan to use the SIM Card that is more mini than the one used now. Most likely, the Nano-SIM is to be installed in the new iPhone coming period.
